Mr. Underwood is the Owner and President of Underwood Drafting and Surveying, Inc. He began his surveying career in 1977 in Moore Oklahoma and founded UNDERWOOD DRAFTING & SURVEYING, INC in 1988. He attended Oklahoma State University and was licensed as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in June 1988, by the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying and in February 1989 by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors. Mr. Underwood is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors and the Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors. He holds a Pre- Certification in multiple survey related areas, issued by the Texas Department of Transportation. Mr. Underwood holds a special interest in boundary retracement, design surveys, construction of public utilities and streets and the ever changing survey technology.

S.I.T.

Brett has been a dedicated full-time surveyor since 2008. A member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (T.S.P.S) since 2016, he earned an Associate of Science in General Studies from Tarrant County and Grayson County College in December 2018 and obtained his Part 107 license in February 2019. Recently, he completed his Surveyor in Training certification in August 2023 and is also a Texas Notary Public. Brett plays a key role in managing supply and survey-related fields and assists clients with their survey inquiries both over the phone and in person. He currently lives in Sherman with his girlfriend of seven years.

Draftsman

John is an experienced draftsman specializing in construction and topographic surveys, currently serving as the Project/Construction Staking Manager for various residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including the Choctaw expansion, the Texas Instruments expansion, Global Wafers, and subdivisions of all sizes. He has lived in Grayson County since 1982 and began his surveying career with us in 1993, accumulating 27 years of field experience and 4 in office management. John is responsible for setting up and coordinating all construction staking jobs. He resides in Denison with his wife, Jennifer, and step-son, Caisyn.

Research Coordinator

Rhonda has been with us since March 2018, where she specializes in finding and collecting land records, survey records, land titles, maps, and other critical information to clarify land history and current ownership. She collaborates with various counties in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as highway departments and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to uncover obscure records that support the team’s efforts. Rhonda also assists field workers and draftspeople by providing essential information. As a lifelong resident of Texoma, she is a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and actively participates in her church community. Rhonda is also an Oklahoma Notary.

Office Manager, Bookkeeper, Notary Public

Born and raised in the Texoma area, Kim attended Grayson County College, specializing in general accounting. Since joining Underwood Drafting & Surveying, Inc. in 2000 as a receptionist, she has risen to the role of Office Manager, where she oversees customer service for subdivision platting and coordinates communications between clients, engineers, and planning staff. Additionally, Kim assists with bidding and job setup while communicating with title companies and lenders. She resides in Denison, Texas, with her husband, Darren.

Receptionist, First Point of Contact, Notary Public

Catie brings over 15 years of customer service experience to her role as a receptionist with us, where she has been since September 2019. In her position, she efficiently handles customer service inquiries, prepares survey bids and quotes, manages scheduling, checks job statuses, invoices, and coordinates with title companies and lenders. Born and raised in the Texoma area, Catie is dedicated to providing service and support to both clients and colleagues.
